Title
Inmunizaciones para la Práctica Clínica General: Una Visión desde la Salud Pública
Description
Vaccines are considered one of the most cost-effective public health interventions, unfortunately still under-used in many countries in the developing world. Adequate use of vaccines is important in everyday medical practice and requires some level of knowledge about the principles of immunization, the mode of action of vaccines, and the public health considerations that lead to the inclusion of new vaccines in national immunization programmes. Objective: produce an updated review on vaccines, their modes of action, vaccine types available for use and under investigation, and the principles that determine their population use, including issues relative to vaccine safety and a brief comment on the present objectives and needs of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).
